SORRY! EVENT CANCELLED
From the event organizers:
Enjoy the artist in you, while exploring a new perspective—a guided journey with experienced facilitators looking at our world and ourselves through seasons, perspective, light and shadow, and self-portraits in the broadest sense.
We create a safe environment where we all can allow our art to move us into the sacred space of our heart, providing opportunities to view ourselves with new eyes. Whidbey Island’s Healing Circle space in Langley will embrace us as we enter, inviting us to sink into the moment.
Through our art, storytelling, reflection and facilitated discussions, we will have an opportunity to explore our lives and renew our spirit, while building a deep, trusted community of fellow artists.
Each session will provide the participant time to produce a quick piece of art that emerges from one of our topics.
Participants will need to bring:
- Art supplies that can be used to make quick art pieces (sketches, drawings, watercolor, acrylics, collage….).
- A medium sized mirror
Accommodations: Many Bed and Breakfasts and Inns in the vicinity: Check with Airbnb or Langley Chamber of Commerce (www.visitlangley.com)

Creating a safe space where people can feel free to explore their deepest selves is a mission of mine. Adding art to this space unlocks a treasure of self – leading to a discovery of the soul. Having facilitated women’s health retreats and classes for the past 20 years and learning the importance of heart connection, I am thrilled to add the element of art into this rich setting. As a personal journaling artist, I record my life in the pages of books. I draw what I see- what appeals to me. Working with Kim and developing Art, Reflecting and Spirit has helped me to understand, at a deeper level, what may be coming from my inner self – adding a dimension that I may have missed in my lifetime. Weaving these two passions unlocks opportunity that I am excited to share.
An experienced retreat facilitator and certified life coach, Kim brings to her work attention to the inner life as the ground for authentic, courageous, and whole-hearted living; and a focus on building trustworthy relationships as core to creating and sustaining robust cultures. Kim is also a courageous artist, fearlessly experimenting with a variety of mediums and incorporating her love of the natural world. Her passion is using powerful creative modalities including poetry, movement, music, and art as a means to explore our essential nature. Her retreats create a safe and reflective space. Kim was prepared as a facilitator in the Circle of Trust approach developed by Parker J. Palmer by the Center for Courage and Renewal (www.couragerenewal.org ). She has developed and led retreats for educators and social impact leaders (www.couragetoleadnp.org ), as well as retreats exploring themes such as life transitions, living and leading authentically, and Opening to Joy.
(This is an event hosted by Healing Circles Langley. We make the HCL facility available to other groups or individuals whose work tucks under the broad umbrella of the “Tree of Healing” on our wall. If the work matches a leaf on the tree, we feel it falls within the scope of our mission. The description of the event and the sliding-scale fee structure are both provided by the organizer of the event.)
