Insight or vipassana meditation is about seeing things as they really are, free from belief, delusion and artifice. By examining our sensations, feelings and thoughts, it trains the mind, opens the heart, and stimulates the process of self-discovery.
Over four weekly sessions, we will learn and practice basic insight/vipassana meditation techniques, including mindfulness of the body and breath, the nature of mind and loving awareness, and explore the Buddha’s teachings on these and related topics. Each session will include meditation instruction, a period of meditation, a short talk and time for discussion and questions.
Everyone is welcome, no experience necessary. Come to one session or come to all four (March 15, 22, 29 and April 5).
This course will be led by Kate Davies, who has had a meditation practice for more than twenty years and is currently completing a meditation teacher certification program with Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield.
