From information provided by the presenters:
During this introductory evening, you will be introduced to the ten touchstones for understanding your grief and the six needs of the mourner that form the framework for the 10-week program.
The program will begin in late September and will consist of nine weekly sessions and one day-long retreat that includes grief education, poetry, music, art, sharing, sacred silence, nature tasks and ceremony. Each class will feature a grief poem and a touchstone that take us on a journey of inner exploration and discovery. The poetic path is a gentle, heart-opening and beautiful journey with grief.
Whether you are experiencing grief from a recent or past loss of a loved one, a life transition, illness or feeling the grief for the collective loss of human lives and sacred places on the planet, we invite you to spend an evening learning about the poetic path of grief with two gentle soul tenders.
Charlene Ray, MSW, LICSW, is a soul-wisdom guide, spiritual mentor, interfaith minister and teacher. She is the founder of Soul Wisdom Guidance, and leads vision quests in Eastern Washington and on Whidbey Island. She gently guides seekers on a quest to discover their authentic self and listen to the call of their soul.
Mark Lucero, LMHC, is a grief specialist and the founder of Pathways Counseling in Coupeville. In addition to his work as a grief counselor he is also an artist and poet. He walks gently alongside the grieving, companioning them on their journey of healing. Mark honors the truth that every person’s experience of grief is unique.
