Collective Joy is an essential element in community building, and it can take many forms — festival, dancing, singing, ritual, theater, sports, parties, etc. Based on his life-affirming belief that “If you want to create a healthy community, THROW A BETTER PARTY,” Rick will demonstrate the role that love, compassion, creative self-expression, and collective joy can play in the evolution of a more joyous and sustainable Whidbey community.
Langley resident Rick Ingrasci M.D. has a rich background in psychiatry and holistic medicine. For over 30 years he has been convening Summer, Winter, and Fall Gatherings that generate a deep sense community spirit and belonging through the power of collective joy AND collective pain. Rick is the co-author of the best-selling “Chop Wood, Carry Water: A Guide to Spiritual Fulfillment in Daily Life.”
